If you order a new Renault or Dacia that is not in stock, do not expect too much to enjoy it before New Year’s Eve 2021. For some models, such as the Arkana, the Mégane Estate or the Trafic, it is even a delivery in spring 2022 which is announced.
Unless you’ve been boycotting newspapers for over a year, the information couldn’t have escaped you: semiconductor shortage severely impacts the automotive industry. Some factories find themselves shut down for weeks at a time, and production of many models is sluggish. Obviously, all this is not without consequences on delivery times: with all manufacturers, they tend to be longer than usual. Renault is not spared, even if he sometimes made decisions that were drastic enough to limit the wait. On the Captur RS Line, certain equipment, such as the 10-inch screen-counter (except on the rechargeable hybrid) or smartphone charging by induction, have thus been temporarily removed.

Almost seven months for the Mégane Estate
This did not prevent the brand from having to announce a recent partial interruption from the Spanish chains of Valladolid, where this small SUV is manufactured. But with deliveries announced for January 2022, it is far from the worst off in the range. His recent “cut” brother Arkana, assembled in South Korea, will ask you to wait until March. Same story for the aging Kadjar, the atypical Twizy quadricycle or the new Trafic. For the majority of Dacias, apart from the Spring available from January, February is the month of advanced. As for the prize for the longest waiting time, it goes to the Mégane Estate and Société: Renault should not be able to hand over the keys to future owners before April 2022.
There are, however, a handful of models that can still be delivered in 2021., without forcing you to choose a copy already in stock. This is the case with the electric city car Zoé, but also the Scénic and Espace minivans, as well as the Talisman wagon. Four Renault which have in common to be all manufactured in France, the last three being even assembled on the same site of Douai, in the North. But apart from the Zoé, which ranked second best-selling electric cars in France in the first half of 2021, these are also cars at the end of their career, whose registrations have become quite anecdotal.
