The EDC box is no longer offered for the Renault Captur TCe 140. The range of the small SUV is reorganized with the arrival of the 145 hp hybrid E-Tech and a drop in the price of the TCe 160 EDC, while the return of certain top-of-the-range equipment leads to higher prices for certain versions.
Renault is cleaning up the Captur range in December 2021, increasing the number of versions offered to individuals from 20 to 16. This thinning of supply comes from the elimination of the EDC dual-clutch transmission for the TCe 140 petrol engine. This is no longer available with a manual transmission.
The Captur TCe 160 EDC price reduction
Customers aiming for a power level equivalent to that of the TCe 140 without a clutch pedal must now turn to the Captur E-Tech hybrid of 145 hp equipped with a controlled clutch box, which induces a minimum additional cost of 1,750 € including the € 100 penalty from which the TCe 140 EDC had hitherto been penalized. Those looking for a 100% petrol unit with EDC box can opt for the TCe 160 engine, which has seen its prices drop from € 200 to € 400 depending on the configuration, i.e. an additional cost of 500 € compared to the TCe 140 EDC in Intens finish (the cheapest in TCe 160 EDC).
Return of the 10-inch handset to high-end
The top-of-the-range RS Line and Initiale Paris versions of the Renault Captur once again feature a customizable 10-inch diagonal digital dashboard, a feature they had recently lost in favor of a 7-inch handset. The return of this large screen once again enables the navigation system to be displayed on the instrument panel. In return, the price of these models increases by 100 € or 200 € depending on the engine. (excluding TCe 160 EDC down, see above).
