Smooth movements
This ancient Chinese form of kinematics is often referred to as a martial art. Only you will not see anything of the spectacular Jackie Chan-like arts at Tai Chi Tao. This sport is characterized by soft, flowing and slow movements and controlled power. Literally translated, Tai Chi Tao means ‘the open way’.
The base
This form of kinematics is based on the five elements theory and the so-called Qi Qonq health exercises, techniques that teach you to work with your own energy. The exercises you do in Tai Chi Tao have names like ‘the blooming lotus’ and ‘the five jewels’. It is assumed that the exercises have a direct influence on your meridians, the energy channels in your body, and your organs. The five elements that are addressed in Tai Chi Tao are:
- Water (kidneys and bladder)
- Wood (liver and gallbladder)
- Fire (heart and small intestine)
- Earth (stomach, spleen and pancreas)
- Metal (lungs and colon)
What does Tai Chi Tao do to you?
Tai Chi Tao affects your balance, coordination, flexibility and physical strength. In addition, it is also a kind meditation, so relaxing for your head. Practitioners of Tai Chi Tao assume that during training the body gets more energy and body and mind eventually come into balance. The relaxing and calm movements have a positive effect on breathing, among other things.
relaxing
The advantage of this sport is that it is very soothing to do, especially if you alternate it with vigorous workouts. The chance of getting an injury is not that great, because every movement is very controlled. Perhaps useful for the somewhat ‘clumsy’ among us. You can do quite a bit the first times muscle strain increase. After all, your muscles will be tested thoroughly, but in the end Tai Chi Tao will have a relaxing effect on you.
Patience is a virtue
Despite the fact that Tai Chi Tao is intended for relaxation, there are people who do not like the fact that Tai Chi Tao has a slow pace. They feel that they are not enough to sweat during a workout. If you are impatient by nature, this sport is not recommended. In order to really understand this sport, you have to put in a lot of time and spend a lot of time with it.
Clothing and lessons
When practicing Tai Chi Tao, it is best to wear comfortable clothes in which you can move easily. Tai Chi Tao can be done in various places in the Netherlands. Read carefully in advance and ask the opinion of other practitioners. A Tai Chi Tao class usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes and you can do it every day if you want.
Healthy
A recent study indicates that Tai Chi Tao de blood pressure of adults decreases. The effect is the same as if you walked briskly for 30 minutes every day. In addition, Tai Chi Tao is also used in some rehabilitation centers for people with conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
