Always affected by the shortage of semiconductors, Peugeot is struggling to deliver its vehicles, like many other brands. Some models even reach records, like the thermal Rifter, which requires waiting almost a year! L’argus takes stock of the Lion’s delivery times.
The semiconductor shortage is not about to end, and all manufacturers are affected by the problem to varying degrees. With, sometimes, plant shutdowns for long periods and greatly slowed production rates. Obviously, the situation has a strong impact on deliveries, with extended lead times for some models.

Very variable deadlines depending on the version
One of the priorities of the moment for Peugeot is the launch of the third 308 of the name. But the new compact Lion is already asking to be patient. In the best-case scenario, out of the model in stock, there is no point in hoping too much to leave with a copy of the sedan before the beginning of May 2022. Professional customers will even have to wait until July, and short-term rental companies still have two months. what’s more. This sales channel, less profitable, is in fact not at all privileged. On the other models, it even imposes an extension of four months. The SW variant can be delivered between week 22 and week 32, that is to say between the end of May and the beginning of August 2022. In addition, one to two weeks of transport from the Mulhouse plant in eastern France.
For other models, however, the situation is worse. For the Rifter MPV, the wait can indeed go up to almost a year! The thermal versions are announced for weeks 38 and 44, which corresponds to the end of September and the beginning of November respectively. The electric e-Rifter is clearly in a better position, with an arrival at the end of the chains expected in around 3 months, at the beginning of March 2022. The hybrid variants of the 3008 and 508 are also available more quickly than the others, while it is even possible to take possession of an e-2008 this year by ordering quickly. These differences owe nothing to chance: like its competitors, Peugeot today clearly favors its electrified versions.
