Your small slimming step, to be taken every week from today, is to give yourself a detox day to lose weight. You will learn the reflexes that stimulate your body’s elimination and drainage functions.
Pollution, junk food, stress, alcohol, and so on… Throughout the year, the body tends to accumulate toxins. Even during a healthy diet, all the products of animal origin that you consume (meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, etc.) promote the production of waste during their assimilation.

The morning of your detox day
When you get up, before having breakfast, purify your body by drinking homemade lemon water. Squeeze a lemon (preferably organic) in a glass of warm water: alkalizing, the lemon neutralizes the gastric hyperacidity accumulated during the night and remineralizes. It promotes the elimination of accumulated toxins and boosts intestinal transit. You can add a little honey to sweeten the taste of this detox drink.
Choose fresh seasonal fruit for breakfast. You can mix them with plain unsweetened yogurt and a mixture of rolled oats and oat bran. Add honey if desired.
If you don’t want to bother with your detox day, you can opt for an apple mono diet. The apple ticks all the boxes: cheap, tasty and nutritionally interesting. Eat 3 apples in the morning, 1 apple at 10 a.m., 3 apples at noon, 1 apple at 4 p.m., and 3 apples in the evening. Drink water at will. That’s it !

Take a green tea or a detox herbal tea with cherry stems, lemon and mint or verbena-fennel.
If you want something bigger, you can also prepare a porridge with half an unpeeled apple cut into pieces and 4 pitted prunes. Heat the mixture over low heat 200 ml of apple juice without added sugar and add 40 g of rolled oats. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring, then add the apple and prunes and a pinch of cinnamon. Continue cooking for a minute and enjoy warm.
Then go for a walk in a park near you or, even better, in the forest. Try to walk at a brisk pace (you can even go for a run) and take breaks every quarter of an hour. Don’t forget the little stretching session at the end…
It’s already lunch time
The idea of a detox day is to have a light lunch for relieve the organs of digestion, especially the intestines. You will try to settle for a frugal and vegetable meal opting, for example, for a soy salad, with diced natural tofu, cucumber and avocado and slivered almonds. As a seasoning, one tablespoon of soy sauce and two teaspoons of lemon juice will do.
For dessert, take a soy yoghurt to which you will add some red fruits; especially no sugar. Before the meal, do not forget to take a large glass of water, and after, a detox infusion based on thyme, ginger and lemon for example.
In the afternoon
In the afternoon, give yourself a 5-minute cardiac coherence session. In a situation of well-being, the average number of complete breaths (an inspiration followed by an expiration) is around 6 per minute.
To practice cardiac coherence, you must adopt a rhythm of 6 complete breaths per minute. This means that your respiratory cycle is about 10 seconds : 5 seconds of long and deep inspiration followed by 5 seconds of total expiration.
If you want to have a snack or if you are feeling peckish in the afternoon, start by drinking a large glass of lemon water or a cup of detox herbal tea. Then eat a fresh fruit and some whole almonds. If you prefer, you can instead use a glass of vegetable drink (soya, coconut or almond juice, etc.) with some nuts or a few hazelnuts.
A light dinner to end your detox day
- Start the meal with raw vegetables accompanied by a vinaigrette made from lemon juice and olive oil or a vegetable broth.
- Continue with white fish (such as sole, hake or cod) and a side dish of cooked vegetables. You can add good quality starches that have a low Glycemic Index like basmati rice, quinoa or legumes (like lentils, split peas or dried beans).
- For dessert, take a fresh seasonal fruit that you will eat whole.
- You can end your meal with an herbal infusion of sleep such as linden, lemon balm, valerian or marjoram.
- If you are looking for a lighter and 100% vegetable alternative, you can opt for a salad of quinoa and small vegetables (peas, carrots and chickpeas for example) followed by a fruit salad (apples, oranges, bananas and red).
Throughout this detox day, keep a bottle of water handy. Pour lemon water or spring water on it and hydrate yourself as often as possible by taking small sips.
