As 2018 is about to begin, 69% of French people would like to get off on the right foot, set new goals and potentially stick to them. A survey carried out among 1,097 people by the Toluna polling institute and the Newpharma site dissects these good resolutions. Unsurprisingly, the things we would like to improve are primarily health and well-being.
Men and women, not the same goals?
On the New Year’s Day count, 1 third of the French will not take any resolution. As for the others, despite all their good intentions, only 5% will actually stick to it. At the top of the podium, we find the desire to losing weight (38%), to take up sport (35%), or simply to positively (29%). Contrary to what one might think, the wish ofstop smokingcomes much further in the ranking with only 15% of motivated smokers. Another resolution also at the bottom of the ranking (because surely taken on the morning of January 1 after a drunken evening): to reduce alcohol consumption for 7% of those questioned.
These good resolutions vary slightly depending on the gender. 41% of women want above all to lose a few pounds while men (35%) want to get into sport or do more. Men and women are nevertheless equal in the desire to be positive and adopt a healthier food. These results clearly show that the French are aware that a healthy mind in a healthy body is linked to a better quality of life. You still have to stick to it!
