They drove too fast to stop
The Albanian police likes to film how the officers carry out speed checks and then put the videos on the internet. Probably to scare off speeders, but the entertainment is a nice side effect. For example, the officers filmed – with a potato – how a Swiss driver of a Lamborghini Huracán Avio and a Kosovar BMW M4 driver flew past a checkpoint at 225 km/h. It is not clear how fast you can go there, but the maximum speed in Albania is a maximum of 110 km/h on the highway.
They were speeding too hard to obey the officer’s stop sign, but they were able to get picked up by another police unit further down the road. The driver of the Lamborghini received a total of around 1,400 euros in fines for speeding, racing on a public road, ignoring a stop sign and driving without license plates. The BMW driver was allowed to go home with just under 1,000 euros in fines.
