Here is an assertion which should scare the purists and amateurs of tea-time. The researcher persists and signs his discovery. The Australian specializes in exploring the benefits of natural products by extracting antioxidant components. When it comes to tea, Dr Vuong ensures that the aromas and benefits of tea are maximized by microwave oven.
For his experience, reported on Australian radio abc Radio Sidney, he isolated and purified the components of green tea and black tea in order to realize that the microwave was “stronger” than the kettle or the water heated in the pot to activate the antioxidants in the tea and generate a better taste. The microwave oven activated 80% of the caffeine, theanine and polyphenol compounds in the hot drink studied. Theanine is an amino acid that promotes relaxation and fights fatigue. Polyphenols are antioxidants which would be beneficial in preventing diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease and lowering cholesterol.

Forget the whistling teapot, the researcher recommends a new operating mode:
-Place your cup filled with water with the tea bag in it (or the tea leaves)
-heat for 30 seconds in the microwave at medium power
– wait a minute before tasting.
