I am 67 years old and have osteoporosis. I was curious about how soy milk works. Does soy milk contain enough calcium and vitamin D just like regular milk?

You need 1000 mg of calcium per day. By taking two to three glasses of soy milk, you arrive at this amount. You hardly get vitamin D from soy milk. You make it from sunlight and get it partly from foods, such as oily fish (salmon, herring and mackerel). All women over the age of 50 are advised to take a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D. This has to do with the amount needed to ensure that your bones remain strong and the muscles function properly.
