Aggressive cancer, melanoma must be detected at the start of its development to allow early treatment. This is the only way to give the patient the maximum chance of recovery because the only effective treatment is to remove the early tumor.
Melanomas are skin cancer the most dangerous because they are likely to swarm into other organs and have fatal consequences. When diagnosed at a metastatic stage, they have what is called “poor prognosis”: 5-year survival rates not exceeding 20% for patients.
May 28: a day for the prevention of melanoma
To alert and sensitize people most at risk of melanoma (i.e. those who are exposed to UV rays in the context of their profession or for their leisure), the National Syndicate of Dermatologists-Venereologists is organizing for the 17th year consecutively, the National Day of Prevention and Screening of Skin Cancer, May 28. This day is based on the volunteering and volunteering of hundreds of dermatologists who provide anonymous and free screening consultations throughout France, in dedicated centers. The addresses of the testing centers are communicated on the site www.dermatos.fr
In the meantime, find out what sneaky places melanoma can hide.
