If the tolerance of coffee varies from person to person, too much caffeine can cause palpitations. It is recommended not to exceed the daily dose of 200 to 300 mg, that is to say up to 3 or 4 cups of 100 ml. Pregnant women should not drink more than one cup per day, as caffeine crossing the barrier of the placenta can have effects on the nervous system of the fetus.
