Eczema is a skin lesion characterized by the appearance of blisters on red, inflammatory skin. The disease, also called atopic dermatitis, is not contagious and evolves in spurts.
One of the homeopathic medicines widely used to treat eczema is Rhus Toxicodendron (also used for treat shingles blisters). Diluted in 9 CH and taken three to four times a day, Rhus tox is able to make certain eczemas disappear in a few days. Apis mellifica in 15 CH is, for its part, the remedy particularly suitable for all forms of irritation and redness.
The 9 main symptoms
Atopic eczema manifests itself in different symptoms:
– redness of the skin with severe itching
– fine blisters on the skin
– oozing resulting from the rupture of vesicles and scabs
– skin dryness outside the affected areas.
According to the symptoms felt, Dr. Gérard Pacaud, doctor of medicine and professor at the Center for Homeopathic Studies and Documentation advises to take the following homeopathic remedies, 4 granules, twice a day:
• If the eczema is dry
Arsenicum iodatum 7 CH and Arsenicum album 7 CH
• If the patches are red with vesicles
Rhus toxicodendron 7 CH and Cantharis 7 CH
• If eczema and crusty and oozing
Graphites 9CH and Mezereum 7 CH
• If the eczema is very horny and cracked but without bleeding
Lycopodium 9 CH and Antimonium crudum 7 CH
• If the eczema has cracks that bleed
Nitricum acidum 7 CH and Petroleum 7 CH
• If the eczema is aggravated by the sun and the seaside
Natrum muriaticum 9 CH, 4 granules morning and evening.
• If the eczema is made worse by heat or water and improved by cold
Sulfur 9 CH
• If the eczema is aggravated in the winter
Petroleum 7 CH
• If eczema occurs after vaccination
Thuya 15 CH and Mezereum 7 CH
Good to know : in case of superinfection of eczema, disinfect using a solution of 15 drops of calendula mother tincture diluted in half a glass of water. And do not hesitate to consult a homeopath who will be able to offer you the basic treatment that is most likely to be effective.
