With some help from Abt
A fresh look can do wonders. Donkervoort has been working on the D8 for almost ten years and each time they managed to extract a few extra horsepower from the Audi engine. For the new Donkervoort D8 GTO Individual Series, the Dutch brand approached Abt Sportsline for the last few horsepower. The power is now 435 hp, in the JD70 it was 415 hp. The torque is a modest 10 Nm higher with 570 Nm.
The Donkervoort D8 GTO Individual faster at Spa-Francorchamps
The top speed achieved by this purple apparition on the Spa-Franchorchamps straight is 11 kilometers higher than the JD70. It is 1.4 seconds faster per lap on the Belgian GP circuit than its predecessor, the JD70. According to Donkervoort, the consumption of the five-cylinder has not increased and the car records 8 liters per 100 kilometers in the cycle.
Individualization
The other big news is the ability to customize the latest GTO to your liking. The cars are built by hand, so the possibilities are endless. For example, you can choose a specific paint color, multiple paint colors or omit the color completely. Then you have a naked carbon fiber body. You can have other displays placed or have certain air intakes placed from previous GTO iterations.
‘The basic car is a blank canvas, which gives customers the freedom to create a Donkervoort that meets all their wishes, regardless of whether the customer is oriented towards the track, touring, design or luxury’, Donkervoort reports. In addition to the car itself, Donkervoort offers a range of accessories for the new Donkervoort D8 GTO Individual. For example, a suitable helmet or racing suit or a set of luggage that matches the car.
