Disney+ is a video streaming service that currently offers two types of subscriptions. A third option will be added in 2023, the company said.
This is a subscription in which viewers watch advertisements in between. As a result, the subscription in question is cheaper than the current offer. Now you pay 8.99 euros per month or 89.99 euros per year to get access to all films, series and documentaries.
Cheaper subscription to Disney+
The new subscription will be released in the United States at the end of 2022. The company announces this in a recently published press release† It is not yet clear when the international rollout will take place. But that should happen sometime next year. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear what exactly you will pay for the subscription. Disney will announce that at a later date.
It is not surprising that Disney + is going to offer a cheaper subscription. After all, some major competitors are doing the same. For example, you pay 5.99 per month for Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max offers options from 2.99 euros per month. There are sometimes some conditions attached to this, which do not necessarily have to be disadvantageous for users.
Amazon Prime Video also includes access to the US company’s Prime delivery service. With HBO Max, the price of 2.99 or 3.99 euros (for the slightly more expensive subscription) only applies to people who purchase a subscription very quickly and never cancel it. If you cancel it anyway, you will lose the fifty percent discount.
At the time of writing, Disney+ has 129.8 million subscribers. The company already aims to reach 230 to 260 million subscribers by the end of 2024. This may be possible with a cheaper subscription.
