Disney+ will launch a cheaper plan later this year that will show you ads. Advertising is limited to four minutes per hour.
You also only see the ads for movies and series episodes that last more than an hour, according to information in the hands of the Wall Street Journal and variety†
In the United States, there are already video streaming services that offer advertising subscriptions. Peacock, of NBC, has five minutes of advertising per hour of content, while HBO Max also shows four minutes per hour.
Advertisements on Disney+
In terms of ads, don’t expect adult themes, as Disney has to think about its kid-friendly image. So don’t expect any advertising for alcohol, politics, and other adult matters, as well as ads advocating for competition.
In addition, child profiles are not advertised at all. Shows aimed at toddlers also don’t get ads, even if they don’t use the kids profile.
This new Disney+ subscription is planned to be available in the United States by the end of 2022. From next year we can expect it in other countries as well; Disney has not yet announced when it will be the turn of the Netherlands.
