Fancy some fries this afternoon? Above all, do not deprive yourself of it. A researcher from Vanderbilt University (USA) found that the important thing in a diet is to find the right balance between healthy and unhealthy foods.
This method without deprivation would indeed make it possible to obtain better results than during diets drastic.
The scientist studied what she calls the food “vice-virtue package”: the proportion of healthy and less healthy foods on our plate.
Through a series of four experiments, she found that we actually had a “taste-health balance point”, which satisfied us without depriving us.
And, for most people, this vice-virtue balance would be achieved when the plate includes between a quarter and a half offood-pleasures (fries for example), and the other half of healthy foods, often less pleasant.
For Kelly Haws, the main researcher of the study, in short, it is out of the question to deprive yourself of what makes us want. In small portions, keeping pleasurable foods would not necessarily be bad for the figure, especially as drastic diets often lead to poorly lived deprivation. Reduce your ration by ” junk food Would ultimately be the best way not to crack, by offsetting the plate of healthy foods.
“Knowing that consumers are drawn to ‘vice’ portions, marketing managers should add ‘vice’ portions to their product lines.” advises Kelly Haws.
“With the right marketing and the right choices established, we believe that the notion of ‘vice-virtues’ portion could be used for new research to promotebalanced diet, without compromising the enjoyment of food ” concludes the researcher.
