As Covid-19 contaminations resume with intensity, we are asking a lot of questions about the organization of holidays. If I have it abroad, what should I do? Can I go home? And if I have to get tested outside of France, can I get a refund? Explanations.
First, important information if you are going to Europe: ask the CNAM for your European Health Insurance Card. This will help you with all your medical procedures in Europe and will allow you to get a full refund if you have symptoms of Covid-19 when you get tested. It is requested on the internet and is completely free.
On the basis of 35 euros, it is refundable
If you do not have it with you, your test can be reimbursed afterwards, but at a certain rate: the ceiling is 35 euros. Again, you must have symptoms to be able to obtain this support. You will need to send the invoice along with a completed form (the S3125).
Finally, if you are not going to Europeor if you are in Switzerland, you can be covered by your health insurance fund up to a limit of 35 euros too, if your test was urgent and unexpected precise Le Parisien (not a “comfort” test, therefore).
Another important piece of information: if you test positive abroad, it is better to stay there than to fly back to France. The Ministry of Health advises to follow the rules of the country in which you are. You cannot be reimbursed for your isolation costs.
