The English Institute of Sport has given some recommendations to its athletes for the next Tokyo Olympics so that they do not catch the virus on board the plane that will transport them. These tips, echoed by the Dailymail, can be used by all travelers knowing that the plane exposes us to many viruses. The reason: low humidity and lack of fresh air.
In this confined space, colds, flu, respiratory infections and stomach germs are transmitted when we cough and sneeze. Diseases that can survive on the hands or surfaces touched by other people.
Here is advice from the English Institute of Sport to prevent the spread of germs:
- Sit near a window (and as far away from the aisles as possible to avoid contact with other people)
- Have a seat away from the toilet, the busiest place in the cabin
- Use the air conditioning by adjusting it to create a “cone of protection”
- To drink a lot of water
- Clean your tablet and armrests
“We give advice on how athletes can clean their seats and where to sit so that the air conditioning exposes them less to germs from other passengers on the plane. We have made a prevention campaign l Last year too and, directly or indirectly, we had 40% fewer illnesses in January compared to the previous period,” said Dr Craig Ranson, Chief Medical Officer at the English Institute of Sport.
Last July, it was supermodel Naomi Campbell who drew attention to the importance of hygiene on the plane by posting on Twitter a photo of herself on board a plane equipped with a mask. and gloves with the caption “Fly Safely”.
