A Citroën CX 2400 GTi from 1979, now rare, will be auctioned in Paris on October 24. It is estimated at € 15,000 minimum and it could be that it remains relatively affordable.
First misunderstood, then forgotten, the Citroën CX GTi is rare today. The best-preserved copies are slowly increasing in value, like many mass-produced cars that have become atypical. A particularly neat CX GTi is about to be auctioned in Paris, on the occasion of the Automobile sale on the Champs which will be organized by Artcurial on October 24th.

GTi, but CX above all
The CX GTi in question here is part of the first series. It dates from 1979, and is therefore powered by a 2.4L naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine with 128 hp., a block which was then replaced by a 2.5 L itself supercharged later to give birth to the CX 25 GTi Turbo in the 1980s. This CX 2400 GTi is light gray, a body color contrasted by matt black its exterior protections, a finish specific to the GTi. The upholstery is also black and its quilting recalls the model’s comfortable road vocation.

A GTi that does not panic the meters?
This CX comes from the collection of a “great Parisian boss”. It underwent a complete overhaul in 2016, the year in which it took part in the historic Monte Carlo rally. It has been the subject of regular maintenance since. It only displays a little over 25,000 km on the odometer today, and comes with a Citroën heritage certificate. The car is estimated between € 15,000 and € 25,000, as during the sale organized by Bonhams in Paris last March during which it did not find a buyer. Its estimate corresponds to the prices charged on the second-hand market in France for the most beautiful CX 2400 GTi.
