Who wants a wonderful massage every now and then? Surrendering for hours to nimble hands that knead all the tension and stress out of your body. But you don’t get around to it. Or the step is too big. And a masseur is expensive. Tony Neuman wrote the book ‘Chair Massage’ for those people. Anyone can do it, it only takes 15 minutes and you don’t have to undress.

Sitting on a chair in the kitchen, in the office, when you are visiting or at home, chair massage is quick and easy. A real chair masseur uses a special chair that you sit on backwards, as it were. But according to author Tony Neuman, this is not even really necessary.
In fifteen minutes the masseur can provide you with new energy by massaging your neck, back, arms, hands, hips and skull. And don’t you like it when people touch your body? According to Neuman, chair massage is the ideal opportunity to get over that. Precisely because everyone can do it, you can sit in a familiar place with your clothes on.
A taste of massage techniques:
The pressure of spider legs
Apply pressure to the scalp using the fleshy parts of your ten fingers and do this three times. The scalp of the massaged person should slide over the skull, but your fingers should not slide over the scalp of the massaged.
Stretching the chicken wings
Run your hands along the massager’s arm and, as you squat down, grab his forearms by the elbows. Keeping the forearms parallel to the floor, pull his elbows straight back first, then lift them as high as you can until the shoulders provide resistance. Hold that position and slowly straighten up, stretching them gently.
Neuman divides his book into three parts. After an extensive first part about why chair massage is so good for you, he describes the practice in the second part. With photos and a clear explanation. In the third part, he discusses the marketing and professional ethics of chair massage.
