The mayors had made believe they wanted to hire a druid to treat their inhabitants, for lack of practitioners. They eventually found their doctor.
Their hoax is creating a buzz. Last March, declaring that they had no doctor in their municipalities, six Breton mayors of Côtes-d’Armor had posted an ad on the Leboncoin website. Their wish? Recruit a healing druid to heal the inhabitants. The candidate had to be able to “cure the disorders of the body and the spirit thanks to the natural forces.” ”
It only took a few days before the six mayors received applications from real practitioners. One of them should settle down next October, reports the Telegram. Today the mayor congratulates himself, the sarcasm would have been proven. “I am happy to announce today that the steps taken jointly by the six communes of the Pays Rochois, the doctors and medical professionals, have been successful,” he says. Another success, a psychologist should also settle in the town, by June.
This story reflects the sad reality of medical deserts in France. For the tenth consecutive year, the National Council of the Order of Physicians (CNOM) published this Thursday the Atlas of medical demography. In a press release, the CNOM noted that “France continued to present significant territorial disparities”. “The territories of the Atlantic coast, Rhône-Alpes and the border territories (North, East) see their numbers increase when other territories combine low density and lack of attractiveness such as the Center, Burgundy … which are increasingly more in pain ”, concluded the CNOM.
