For some people, luxury is simply more. More power, more rim and more leather for the interior. Practicality and taste are completely subordinate to that. Here you are looking at the latest Brabus 800, which in this case is based on the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 – the largest and most luxurious SUV from Mercedes. Because Brabus calls all models ‘800’ these days, we will stick to the Brabus Mercedes-Maybach GLS 800.
The new Brabus gets more power, of course. The V8 now no longer produces 550 hp, but a nice round 800 hp. The torque is now 950 Nm. The 0-100 time is only 4.5 seconds and the top speed is 300 km/h. The latter is limited, probably because the GLS weighs as much as a small village. In addition to the engine, Brabus also tackled the exhaust for a sportier sound. Of course there is a come-home function so that you don’t wake up your neighbors every time.
Of course there is plenty of visual display in, on and on the Brabus Mercedes-Maybach GLS 800. In addition to a lot of extra carbon fiber, the tuner mounts 24-inch manhole covers under the GLS. As a customer, you can put together the interior yourself, but for this demo, this German tuner went for a bright orange interior. It’s, uh, pretty intense. The prices of the conversion from normal Maybach to Brabus Mercedes-Maybach GLS 800 are not publicly known.
