Two months after its official presentation, production of the Alfa Romeo Tonale starts at the historic factory in Pomigliano d’Arco. 20,000 units of the compact SUV are scheduled to be delivered in 2022. The Edizione Speciale launch edition is available from €39,000.
Presented in February 2022, the Alfa Romeo Tonale begins to roll off the chains of the historic factory in Pomigliano d’Arco, near Naples. It is in the latter that the Alfasud and 147 were produced in particular. Postponed many times, the launch of the premium compact SUV will take place from June.

Tonal: the long-awaited renaissance?
The biscione firm has big ambitions with the Tonale. If the goal in 2022 is to produce 20,000 units of the compact SUV, Jean Philippe Imparato, director of Alfa Romeo, plans to deliver up to 45,000 a year afterwards. The Tonale will be able to count on a style that is part of the Alfa tradition and a catalog of fully electrified engines. On the program, two 48V mild hybridization engines of 130 hp and 160 hp, a 245 hp plug-in hybrid offer and a 130 hp diesel unit. For its launch, only the Edizione Speciale is available to order at a price of €39,000. The Italian SUV will then return to the traditional range levels: Super, Sprint, Ti and Veloce.
