why-docteur.com: The detox diet, a good idea after the holidays?
Dr Patrick Serog: It means absolutely nothing. When we have eaten well we are not intoxicated. In any case, there is a detoxification to be done.
What diet do you recommend in this case?
Dr Patrick Serog: What is very important is to resume your eating rhythm. At the next lunch, you have to have a small starter with raw vegetables or a salad, then a lean meat or a fish or two eggs. We are going to combine it with a vegetable. Then we’ll finish with yogurt and fruit. Just by reorganizing your diet in this way, you will feel much better. It will also be necessary to drink abundantly, because the festive meal is extremely dehydrating. With this method, we will ultimately regain its shape very quickly.
The right foods to reintroduce into our diet to relieve the body?
Dr Patrick Serog: The first food to reintroduce is obviously water. This is the absolutely main element. It is important not to skip a meal because in this case, you lose your rhythm and you will not feel very well. There is no miracle food, there is only good behavior to feel good.
A sport in particular to get back in shape?
Dr Patrick Serog: To recover, moderate physical activity, not brutal, is highly recommended. Active walking for an hour, the next day for example. Or even the exercise bike or outdoors. No weight training or too brutal effort because the body has undergone stress insofar as it has absorbed much more than usual. It therefore needs time to be able to regulate its metabolism and a gentle activity will help it.
Can fasting purify the body of the excesses it has suffered?
Dr Patrick Serog: Fasting is silly it requires additional effort from the body. The body will be forced to produce everything that is going to be lacking through food. We are going to tire him out when we need to help him instead.
The role of hydration. Only water?
Dr Patrick Serog: Still or slightly sparkling water. But also herbal teas or mint which has an extremely soothing effect on the digestive system. You can also take a very light tea because it is a small stimulant, both physical and digestive.
The importance of sleep? Dr Patrick Serog: If we disturb our sleep, we will gain weight. You have to try to refresh the room where you are going to sleep and think of positive and pleasant things. At this time, falling asleep comes much easier. If you sleep all your penny, at least 6, 7, or 8 hours, then you put yourself in good conditions to have a stable weight.
