Hours are counted for the Scénic. The Renault minivan will retire in 2022. While waiting for it to leave the catalog, the diamond manufacturer is refocusing the range around 3 finishes and 2 TCe 140 and TCe 160 petrol engines. The entry ticket is now set at 33,200 €.
It is the end of an era, that of minivans. The Scénic, launched in 1996, will bow out in 2022 after nearly 30 years in the catalog. Until then, the fourth generation will quietly pursue its career with a revamped range. Prices rise from € 600 to € 3,000 depending on the finish and bodywork chosen (Scénic or Grand Scénic).
Seven standard seats for the Grand Scénic
From 1er December, Renault only offers three finishes in the Scénic and Grand Scénic catalog. The Zen versions and the limited edition Limited are wiped off the map. The Business, Intens and Black Edition levels change their names to become respectively:
- Evolution : the new entry level is enriched with a reversing camera or an electrochromic rearview mirror. Compared to the old range, this finish is € 1,200 more expensive on Scénic and € 1,300 on Grand Scénic.
- Techno : the intermediate finish just wins a Soft Touch steering wheel, instead of the leather steering wheel. The aviation tablet option is no longer available at this level. The additional cost compared to the old range is € 600 on Scénic and € 1,600 on Grand Scénic.
- Executive : the top of the range wins the head-up display and the Bose audio system, but loses the black decorative elements of the finish it replaces. This version requires an effort of € 2,000 on Scénic and € 3,000 on Grand Scénic.
To note that the Grand Scénic now benefits from 7 standard seats, but it is still possible to request only 5.
Only two TCe engines left in the catalog
As for the number of engines, already reduced after stopping the diesel, it will once again experience a blow of plane. The TCe 115 disappears completely. Only TCe 140 and 160 are kept. And yet, the latter will only be offered with the most chic Executive finish and with the EDC box. The starting bet for this version is set at € 41,400.
