After asking the question of the risks of drinking coffee every day, or even alcohol, comes the turn of tea. In an article published on the Eat this, not that! nutrition experts detail the impact of tea on the body when consumed dailydepending on the type of tea chosen.
First, tea has benefits for cardiovascular health, recalls nutritionist Amy Goodson, interviewed by the magazine. Black tea, hibiscus tea and green tea are associated with good heart health, reduce cholesterol, maintain good blood pressure notably. Tea is also a good source of antioxidants, and green tea is particularly known for limiting oxidative stress.
Green and black teas are also classified in drinks that have an anti-inflammatory action, particularly on the red blood cell side. Some teas are also diuretics, they help urinate, this is the case with green tea, hibiscus tea, barley tea and dandelion tea. According to a study cited by the magazine, published on the International Journal of Molecular Sciencedrinking tea daily could also help control your weight.
Exciting and relaxing teas
For brain health, green tea may be best, thanks to an amino acid called theanine. It is associated with stress reduction and could even boost your cognitive functions, explains another nutritionist, Trista Best. Many teas can be considered stimulants, and are therefore associated with a boost in energy, thanks to the caffeine they contain (in smaller quantities than coffee). That said, if you consume teas that have too much caffeine content, the risks are similar to those of coffee : increased heart rate, difficulty sleeping can result from too much tea.
But there are also teas which do not contain them, and which have relaxing effects. These are mainly infusions, which can also be allies in the event of digestive problems. This is the case for mint, chamomile, or even ginger infusions. In other words, depending on the desired effect, you just have to choose your type of tea.
