Your diary is used to being scribbled and as full as a purse. It’s certain, the mental load of women is not a fanciful notion. Until the day you go on vacation and the “off” days turn your schedule into “no man’s land”. Nothing planned, total relaxation, rest… Unplugging from everyday life and the life of a hyperactive “working girl” has something exciting about it. But it’s also scary. In some women, the change of habit or the fear of heights can indeed cause anxiety. But a few tips can help you relax and approach the holidays with peace of mind.
1. Meditate
Whether sitting in a rocking chair, in a garden deckchair, take a few minutes to focus on yourself, your body. Lose sight of the flow of your thoughts and bring your attention to your breathing, the sensations of your body on the chair, your feet on the floor. This mindfulness meditation is a good way to relax.
- The trick: establish a ritual each morning by taking ten minutes to breathe well and meditate.
2. Do a digital detox
You are active (even addict) on social networks, like to post selfies on Instagram and follow the news of your friends on Facebook? For the holidays, unplug screens and more broadly electronic devices.
- The trick: Stay away from your smartphone and screens (computer, TV) as much as possible. The more you do without it, the freer you will feel. This digital detox will help you let go.
3. Become one with nature
A jog in the forest, a stroll by the sea or just a picnic in the countryside. There are a thousand and one ways to enjoy nature and tap into its riches to recharge your batteries. Like meditation, taking a breath of fresh air lowers the stress hormone cortisol and promotes the production of endorphins, the feel-good hormone.
- The trick: get started in Shinrin Yokuthis ancestral Japanese ritual of forest bathing, which promotes reconnection with nature and oneself. Read also:Sylvotherapy or how trees heal us
4. Sleep well
Take advantage of the holidays to take naps, sleep in and mute the alarm clock. Nothing can disturb your sleep. The ideal: a minimum of 8 hours to properly recharge the batteries.
5. Laugh
Laughter is one of those health reflexes as natural as breathing, but which tends to be a little too forgotten in the year. Let go of the floodgates, smile and laugh out loud. Laughter is contagious and is beneficial in several ways for your health (anti-aging, anti-stress, against cardiovascular disease, etc.).

6. Get moving
If the idea of doing nothing paralyzes you, know that the word vacation does not necessarily rhyme with idleness. The desire tickles you to get back to sportit’s time to put on your sneakers and make a fast walkrunning or any other single activity or with family (canoeing, volleyball, cycling, etc.) which will give you the necessary pep to attack the start of the school year.
- The trick: motivate yourself naturally by drawing from our tips for getting back into sport (effortlessly).
7. Give pride of place to fruits and vegetables
Summer is a good time for barbecues and picnics but also and above all to healthy meals for stock up on vitamins and keep fishing (and not just looking good) at the start of the school year. Pineapple-banana-kiwi smoothies, homemade tomato gazpachos and gourmet and/or light fresh salads are yours! We give pride of place to fresh local and seasonal fruits and vegetables (melon, watermelonstrawberries, cucumbers, peaches…).
