The French victims of erectile dysfunction are increasing. According to a study published by Ifop on April 22, 61% of men are affected.
Multiplication of erectile dysfunction
In 2015, 44% of French people said they already had erectile dysfunction. Four years later, it is now six out of ten men who struggle to develop their sexuality.
These figures revealed in a study published by Ifop on April 22, could be explained by the growing relationship of the French to screens and pornography, two elements destroying the libido. A worrying phenomenon: among French people under 35, Netflix subscribers and those most fond of social networks or pornography are mainly affected by erectile dysfunction.
A taboo subject for patients
The researchers who carried out this study for Ifop also note that city dwellers (46%) are more prone to erectile dysfunction than country dwellers (36%). Two thirds of men who have experienced this concern also recognize that it is a real complex.
Conclusion: the subject is taboo. 72% of men with erectile dysfunction do not speak to a healthcare professional and 33% of them lie to their partner, using fatigue as an excuse to hide their helplessness. Stopping watching screens in bed and seeing a doctor can help resume normal sexual activity.
