But France is the country which uses the Web the least to find information relating to health. Thus, 81% of Internet users in the world use it to seek health advice, against 96% in Russia, 92% in China, 90% in India and 89% in Mexico.
It appears that 61% of French Internet users use the Web to find information on a drug, while 41% of them seek information on the Web to establish a self-diagnosis.
While the personal medical file will be generalized to the entire French territory throughout 2011, the study reveals that 48% of French people would like to be able to access their medical records, exam results and complete their prescription renewals online. Almost half of French people (46%) would also like to make an appointment with their doctor on the web.
Last important figure: a quarter of those questioned claim to check the sources of health information found on the Internet.
