In the United States, a Colorado family with 2 of 4 children suffering from the flu was prescribed Tamiflu by their general practitioner. Tamiflu is an antiviral drug that does not cure the flu but prevents the spread of the virus in the body when taken within 48 hours of the first symptoms appearing. Even if it is not a “vaccine”, it is also prescribed as a preventive measure to fragile people (children, pregnant women) who do not (yet) show flu symptoms, but who have been in contact with a relative who has contracted the disease.
But after getting information on social networks, in particular with the group Stop Mandatory Vaccination, known for his anti-vaccine positions, the mother of the family refused to administer Tamiflu in prevention to her two children who seemed to be in good health. A decision that cost the life of the youngest of them, 4 years old.
In the United States, the current flu epidemic is particularly daunting for children. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the pediatric hospitalization rate is higher than normal and 68 children have already died from the flu.
