Fatty cough, or productive, is accompanied by sputum (sputum). It eliminates microbes and clears the bronchi. It is recommended not to stop it suddenly, because it helps the lungs to defend itself. It is the characteristic cough of bronchitis.
Dry cough, or irritation, is more common at night and may prevent sleep. It is favored by the lack of humidification of the bronchi. It is often found in the aftermath of respiratory infections. After the flu, you can cough for 3 weeks without it being worrying.

Homeopathy granules
Homeopathy is based on the principle of similars: a disease must be treated with the substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person. But used in infinitesimal doses so that it offers no danger of toxicity, taking into account the characteristics of the patient.
- If we cough after a cold snap : Aconite 9 CH associated with Bryonia 9 CH, 5 granules of each, 4 to 6 times a day.
- In the event of a fatty cough, Pulsatilla 9 CH, 5 granules, 4 to 6 times a day.

Ivy infusion
- In the event of a fatty cough: ground ivy is cough suppressant, mucolytic (bronchial thinner) and disinfectant. One of its components, marrubiin, promotes expectoration.
- In case of dry cough: climbing ivy is antispasmodic (against fits). It helps to clear the bronchi and makes the cough “ripen”.
- How to prepare it: pour 1 teaspoon of ivy (terrestrial or climbing) in 25 cl of boiling water. Leave to infuse for 10 minutes, strain and drink very hot. With thyme or lavender honey. Drink 3 cups a day. Or as a poultice : roughly chop the fresh plants in a mortar, then add a little hazelnut oil. Spread this preparation on a clean cloth and apply for 15 minutes on the thorax. Make two poultices a day if possible.
We don’t forget the honey
It calms irritation and soothes coughs, with a healing effect. According to a recent Israeli study, it is even more effective than cough syrups. Preference is given to using thyme, eucalyptus, lavender or fir honeys. Take 1 to 2 tablespoons, pure or with herbal tea.
