Sunstroke: what are the warning symptoms?
Sunstroke affects children and the elderly more frequently. It occurs following prolonged exposure to the sun, without protection. The head and neck are burning, the body is overheating. It’s hyperthermia. Body temperature exceeds 38.5°C. Alcohol, lack of sleep, sport and certain medications can promote this phenomenon in a context of heat.
Symptoms can be sunburn, headaches, dizziness, more or less intense fatigue, stomach aches sometimes accompanied by nausea and vomiting, muscle cramps, ringing ears or a heart that starts to beat faster faster », list Céline Augier.
