A major update for Windows 11 will be released next month, which will focus on Android apps. In addition, you can share your screen and mute conversations via the taskbar.
Microsoft will let you know all that in a recently published blog post. The first major update to Windows 11 arrives first in the form of a public preview, which you can participate in. After installing the update, it is possible to download Android apps from the Microsoft Store. Those apps are offered through Amazon.
Android apps on Windows 11
Because Microsoft is working with Amazon on the implementation, installing Android apps works slightly differently than you may be used to. For example, officially Microsodt does not offer support for installing .apk files, but an unofficial solution has already been devised for this.
on GitHub read how to install Android apps that way. In addition, you can also install F-Droid or the Aurora Store; solutions that unfortunately must exist, until Google decides to bring Google Play to Windows.
It doesn’t stop with Android apps, of course. Because you will soon be able to do more with the taskbar. For example, it is possible to mute conversations, muting the sound, and share your screen. Finally, WIndows 11 will share some weather information via that bar.
Some more changes are planned in the future. For example, Microsoft wants to bring the clock back to the taskbar when you use a second screen. This was possible on Windows 10, but it is not yet possible on Windows 11. In addition, the Media Player and Notepad can count on a new lick of paint.
