Too fat, too sweet, too salty. My-Pharma.info recalls the mediocre nutritional qualities of meals served in fast food restaurants. For the fourth consecutive year, the site specializing in health information publishes its ranking of the “cities most affected by junk food in France”. In the 32 largest French cities, the editorial staff, which includes doctors in particular, has identified the presence of the restaurants of the 16 best-known fast food chains in France. And like the three previous years, the first step of the podium goes to… Bordeaux.

The city with the most fast food restaurants remains Paris, with 394 restaurants for more than 2,240,000 inhabitants. But the streets of Bordeaux retain the record for the number of fast food outlets in relation to the number of inhabitants, with 54 fast food outlets for more than 250,000 inhabitants. And the largest cities are not the only ones to be concerned, since in second place is now Metz (0.1866 fast food outlets per 1,000 inhabitants), which was however far from the top 3 in previous rankings, followed by Tours (0.1831 fast food outlets per 1,000 inhabitants).
McDonald’s still has more restaurants than any other chain on the list, with 222 outlets nationwide. The brand is followed by another American company specializing in fast food, Subway, with 165 points of sale. The French bakery Paul is ranked third, with 137 outlets.
“This ranking is still not intended to point the finger at consumption habits, but in complete transparency to question the role of these brands in our consumption habits.write the authors of My-Pharma.info. A snack taken on the go at the local fast food restaurant undoubtedly saves time, but what we too often forget is that the particularity of these foods served in fast food restaurants is that they are low in nutrient sources like plant fiber and vitamins. »
