WhatsApp raises group limit to 512 users

WhatsApp increases group limit to 512 users

From now on you can actively chat with a total of 512 people in one group within the popular communication service WhatsApp.

Previously, this was only possible within the beta available for Android and iOS. However, the website WABetaInfo now reports that WhatsApp is rolling out an update that increases the number of group users for everyone.

If you haven’t received an update for the app yet, you can do that at any time. Can’t wait? Check out the digital store pages for android and iOS to see if there is already an update ready for you.

WhatsApp supports larger groups

If you are not sure whether you have already received an update, create a new group just to be sure. You will then see at the top of the screen how many people you can add to the newly created group.

This update is especially useful for large organizations and businesses that want to communicate with employees, colleagues and volunteers in an accessible way.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working on a new tab for within the app, called Communities. That will be a kind of forum-like part in which many people can come together who have a shared interest. You can read more about this with our colleagues from Computer!Total
