You’ll soon be able to exclude people from WhatsApp much better with these profile picture blocking features and ‘last seen’ status.
The messaging service adds new privacy options for profile pictures and ‘last seen’ status. This is not entirely unexpected, as the company has paid attention to it before. At the time, WhatsApp said it would introduce more privacy controls for Profile Picture, Info, Status and Last Seen settings. This is already possible, only for everyone at the same time. That is about to change.
Better blocking function WhatsApp
The “Last seen” status is a separate privacy hazard, as it indicates when someone last checked the app. That provides a way to find out if a contact may have seen your message. This is possible even if you have disabled read receipts. The new application allows you to disable that feature for certain people. While also blocking Profile Picture, Info and Status for individual users. This is useful, because you can be more specific.
If you limit your Last Seen status to certain people, you will find that you can’t see their Last Seen status either. The new settings are available from the three-dot menu in the top right corner, then navigate to Account > Privacy.
New functions
WhatsApp is catching up on privacy features. Other apps do that better and the parent company Meta is now aware of that. That is why it comes up with new solutions almost every month. Last year, the company said it would restrict accounts for users who do not accept the new privacy policy. That was not received enthusiastically, that’s why it scribbled company back soon. Good thing, too.
