Volkswagen imagines a pick-up version of the ID. Buzz and wants to know what Internet users think. Will the new electric combi soon turn into a small neo-retro tipper utility?
Explicitly inspired by the first two generations of the famous Combi, the Volkswagen ID.Buzz just presented could have multiple versions like its illustrious ancestor, thanks in particular to the modularity offered by its modular MEB platform. Its Cargo paneled utility version has already been unveiled alongside the “tourism” model, and today Volkswagen reveals the illustration of an ID.Buzz pick-up.
A realistic proposal
It was during the development of the electric van that the idea of a pick-up came to the designers according to Volkswagen, hence this illustration. The ID.Buzz is transformed into a double-cab with a short tipper. Its rear doors have been shortened in the operation, and the roof has a black protective coating. Apart from that, the vehicle differs very little from the production model, even retaining the rear lights placed at the edge of the loading area. We notice an opening in the rear wing, which could serve as a step.

More in the IDs.
No marketing of a Volkswagen ID.Buzz pick-up has been announced for the time being. But, on social networks, the Germanic firm asks Internet users their opinion on this creation. She could decide her future depending on the reactions she gets. She had done the same in March 2021 with a convertible version of the ID.3 electric compact.

Nevertheless, the zero-emission pickup market is growing rapidly, particularly in the United States. In addition to a dump ID.Buzz, Volkswagen is considering an electric variant of the next Amarok.
