The basic guacamole recipe
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- ½ lime
- 1 tomato
- ½ red onion
- A few drops of Tabasco
- 1 C. c. chopped cilantro
Recipe
- Deseed the tomato, cut it into small cubes, as well as the onion.
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.
- Put the avocados in a salad bowl with the lemon juice and the Tabasco (according to your taste). Mash with a fork.
Why make guacamole yourself?
- To avoid additives: “industrial” preparations can also be rich in additives: stabilizers, emulsifiers, acidity correctors, artificial flavors, flavor enhancers…
- To limit salt: like many special appetizer products, guacamole can be quite salty. At home, we try to have a light hand: the Tabasco (sauce made from red pepper) already contains salt. The onion and the lemon are therefore sufficient for the seasoning.

2 guacamole recipes that change
THE “CAMOLE PEA” : Blend peas (fresh, cooked or canned), pass them through a sieve to remove the skins and season with olive oil and pepper cut into small pieces.
COURGETTE GUACAMOLE : Fry diced zucchini in olive oil until they have released all their water. Mix with garlic, lemon and chilli.
