Éclairs, millefeuilles, macaroons… Bakery pastries are all more appetizing than the others. But watch out for the calorie counter! Because fat And sugars are present in large quantities in these desserts.
Fortunately for foodies, nutritionist Raphaël Gruman shared via his Tik Tok account, the three lowest-calorie pastries in bakeries. By following his recommendations, you can treat yourself without feeling guilty.
Lightning
“We think that éclair is relatively caloric but in fact, not that much“, explains the nutritionist. In fact, éclairs are made up of choux pastry, pastry cream and icing. Choux pastry is a light, low-calorie dough, while pastry cream is a cream made from milk, eggs and sugar. The frosting is the only caloric component of the éclair, but it is usually applied in moderate amounts.
The pastry flan
The pastry flan is made up of pastry cream and shortcrust pastry. The crème pâtissière is the same as that used for éclairs, and the shortcrust pastry is a dough made from flour, butter and water. “It’s a product that carries a lot of eggs, a little bit of sugar, that’s true. […] but it is not a product that will be too greasy“, explains the expert.
Fruit tarts
And for Raphaël Gruman, “the must, obviously remains the fruit tarts“! He takes the example of a raspberry tartlet, low-calorie fruits rich in fiber. Made up of shortcrust pastry, a fresh fruit filling and sometimes a drizzle of sugar, fruit tarts are much lower in calories than other pastries. Note that the lowest in calories is apple pie.

What desserts should you absolutely avoid in a bakery?
Bakeries contain many “calorie bombs”. The most caloric desserts are generally those that contain a large amount of sugar, butter and cream. THE macaronsTHE pastries and especially the chocolate brownies are among the worst pastries in terms of calories.
These desserts should be avoided if you are watching your figure. Of course, it is possible to eat these pastries occasionally without having any impact on your health. However, it is important to limit their consumption if you want to lose weight or reduce the risk of diabetes.
