With 94 million collected, the figures of the Telethon 2015 are “exceptional”. This result is based on increased mobilization on the Internet.
Despite a difficult post-attack context, the French were “incredibly generous” for the 2015 Telethon, announces this Thursday the association to fight against genetic diseases, rare and severely disabling. With 93,850,778 euros collected, final collection is up 1% compared to 2014 (1).
This “exceptional” result is the fruit of a collective alchemy that brings together families, volunteers, researchers, donors, partners, artists, animators and teams from France Télévisions.
The 20,000 events organized throughout France once again demonstrated the “unique” capacity of the Telethon to mobilize the most diverse energies to achieve a common objective: “to change the future of our children and enable the new generation to be born. today to know the meaning of the word cure, ”writes AFM-Telethon.
The reasons for success
This result is also based, this year, on an increased mobilization of viewers and Internet users, during and after the event, thanks to a Telethon 2015 program “more spectacular, more connected and more unifying than ever”. And the result is there with Internet fundraising up 8.24%.
In 2016, the AFM-Telethon will therefore be able to meet the many and complex challenges linked to the development and proliferation of innovative therapies for rare diseases. It evokes the creation of places allowing, in complete safety, “the setting up of clinical trials in children (such as the I-Motion Institute at the Trousseau-AP-HP hospital inaugurated on February 18), or even the creation of an industrial platform dedicated to the bioproduction and the provision of gene and cell therapy drugs at a fair and controlled price … “
Telethon 2016 on December 2 and 3
It is a new chapter which opens, according to the association: “it will be decisive on the way of the drug, but it is also the fruit of a mobilization and an unfailing fidelity”.
For this reason, these activists do not lose sight of the Telethon 2016, which should be an opportunity “to bring together all those who have participated in this great human adventure since 1987: more than 250 ambassador cities, more than 10,000 municipalities, hundreds of thousands of volunteers, researchers, families, artists … ”So, to make this 30th edition of the Telethon a real springboard for tomorrow, she has set the meeting for December 2 and 3 on the channels and the screens of France Télévisions and everywhere in France.
