The decree called “Sunshine Act”, obliges a publication of the links between companies of health products and cosmetics, and health professionals.
“Everything must be made public, their amount and nature“, explained the Minister of Health Marisol Touraine to Parisien. The goal:”moralize relations between industrialists and the healthcare world“, specifies the Minister and put an end to conflicts of interest between doctors and pharmaceutical laboratories.
Meals, invitations, presents, travel, congress, all benefits granted to a health professional with a value greater than or equal to € 10 must be declared.
All research agreements binding a laboratory and a healthcare professional are also subject to this decree.
” If the relations between health professionals and industries are essential to medical progress, their knowledge is an instrument of confidence between citizens and the health system. », Recalls the Minister.
The publication will soon be centralized on a public website
Pending the establishment of this single site, this information will be published on the website of the professional orders concerned and on the website of the companies. All this information will be checked by the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM). In the event of a false declaration, the fines may amount to 45,000 euros.
This decree published today in the Official Journal will be applied from tomorrow.
