A nurse was sentenced to five years in prison, two of which were suspended for defrauding her health insurance fund. The fraud would amount to one million euros.
A liberal nurse from Sepmeries (North) was sentenced this Wednesday to five years in prison, including two years suspended by the criminal court of Valenciennes. The professional was accused of having defrauded a million euros from the Hainaut CPAM.
According to Northern voice who reports the case, this 31-year-old healthcare professional was billing fictitious acts on patients in her file, as well as on members of her family. The system was implemented in 2013, two years after its installation.
Cars and luxury
Each month, thanks to this stratagem, she collected 60,000 euros, instead of her annual 48,000 euros. With this replete sum, she offered herself a luxury car, a property in Morocco or even trips abroad.
The pot aux roses was brought to light following a denunciation from one of the patients, who was surprised to the CPAM by the many and expensive acts supposed to have been carried out on his person. At the helm, the nurse spoke in her defense of a “gear” in which she would have let herself be drawn, in particular to satisfy the desires of her husband, a lover of beautiful cars. The husband was also himself sentenced to one year in prison. The couple’s property was confiscated.
