The health barometer for 58-68 year olds produced by CCMO Mutual reveals that a majority of seniors feel 5 to 15 years younger than their actual age. 88% of them consider themselves in good health and say they do everything necessary to stay that way. To keep fit 67% eat healthier and limit excess and 46% of them practice sports activity regular.
The study was conducted among 600 people, aged 58 to 68 years. Seniors were asked “questions about preparing for retirement, appreciating retirement, aging well and enjoying retirement, the place and practices in health, as well as the place and perception of health post “, explains CCMO Mutuelle in its report.
7 out of 10 seniors feel younger
Overall, the barometer shows that seniors are happy to be alive and that they consider themselves to be in good health. In total, 7 out of 10 people feel younger than they really are. 28% of those questioned declared that they were in “very good health”, in particular thanks to physical exercise (for 46% of them).
While sport occupies an important place, it is essential for 47% of seniors to maintain an active social life, such as going to a restaurant with friends, inviting their family over to the house, etc.
