For when you think of a boring brand when you think of Segway. The new Segway Apex H2 is completely different!
When you think of the Segway brand, you might think of that crazy mobility solution. Where people stood on such a thing with a helmet on and went from A to B. There are even companies that organize tours on the devices. But that’s all in the past. Today Segway makes much tougher things like the Ninebot, but also the Apex H2.
While the Ninebot is a product that you and I can buy, the Segway Apex H2 is still a prototype. The motorcycle was previously presented as a concept and now a prototype has actually been made. A price tag has also been announced. In China, Segway will sell the two-wheeler for 69,999 yuan. That translates to 9,421 euros. An acceptable price for a motorcycle.
The Segway Apex H2 has a complex drivetrain. You have a hydrogen engine and a battery pack that works together. The top speed is 150 km/h and the motorcycle reaches 100 km/h in just four seconds. The power is below 100 hp. More than enough for this special motorcycle.
It will take a while before you can order this Apex H2 at Segway. The market launch is not until 2023. But with first a concept and now a prototype, they are well underway. And fair is fair. You really have something different and not something silly with this Segway! (through cartrottle)
