In its desire for modernization and proximity, the Health Insurance is launching a website to “coach” policyholders and instill in them personalized preventive measures.
A virtual coach for everyone: this is what the Health Insurance (CNAM) wants to set up, which presented its latest innovation this Thursday. The date is special: it is today that the mandate of Frédéric van Roekeghem, the director general of the CNAM, expires. So, for his final press conference, he wanted to show what this old institution was capable of in terms of high-tech health.
Personalized advice
The site ameli.fr will thus give birth to a new platform called “Active Health online coaching”. The principle: to provide personalized prevention advice to all insured under the general scheme. Three aspects are particularly targeted, because major factors of pathologies: the health of the heart, that of the back, and nutrition.
After filling out a form to target each person’s specific lifestyle, the virtual coach will invite them to adopt the right actions. Are you gardening? It will teach you what are the best positions to avoid low back pain when picking up weeds. If you are more of a cook, he will give you some tips for low fat cooking.

Coaching over 3 months
“It is a question of setting up an individual educational path, which will be spread over three months, with interactive modules,” explains Mathilde Lignot-Leloup, deputy director for the management and organization of care at the CNAM. The goal is for everyone to integrate prevention reflexes and limit risky behavior on a daily basis ”.
Initially, the platform will be tested in a department (Seine Saint-Denis). It should be available to everyone from January 2015. You will simply have to open an account on ameli.fr. During the year, the website could also be enriched with personalized coaching on smoking cessation.
In terms of innovation, the Health Insurance did not stop there. It intends to create a community of insureds. And as of today, she is going to storm Twitter, with the creation of her account @CnamtsOfficiel. A mutual aid forum should be created on its website, and a Facebook account will allow policyholders to discuss common life situations (eg pregnant women). But for this last point, we will have to wait a little longer – towards the end of 2015. Not too fast, anyway!
Prado and Sophia extension
Finally, the Health Insurance has announced the extension of two support programs: Prado and Sophia. They both aim to establish a close link with the populations they target, as well as regular monitoring. Sending of informative brochures, personal adviser, gazette … They involve a multitude of services.
Thereby, Sophia was originally intended for diabetics, and now follows 1 in 4 patients in France. From now on, this service will also be aimed at asthmatics. An experiment has just been launched in 18 departments.
Prado, meanwhile, supervises people returning to their homes after hospitalization, in three cases: maternity, orthopedics and heart failure. The program will now be tested on patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis (COPD) and chronic wounds (ulcers, bedsores, etc.).
