Fortunately, it ends well due to excellent responsiveness
In an online server full of unknown racers, it’s often a good idea to keep a tight line at the first turn. You know for sure that there is always one player who dives into the first corner a little too enthusiastically and knocks everyone off. You’d better stay out of harm’s way by straying slightly from the racing line. The video below from a few years ago proves this point, with the exception that this is not online.
The video was shot from a BMW 3 Series (E46) on the Nürburgring GP circuit. After the straight there is a short bend to the right and while the driver brakes, a BMW 2-series suddenly flies by. Of course, the driver of the 235i will not have really thought that he is in an online lobby, but have misjudged his braking point or he simply had failing brakes. Whatever the cause, the fast reaction of the driver in the movie car prevents a collision between the two.
