Red Bull mainly focuses on the race
Yesterday Verstappen was far from the fastest time of Hamilton during the 2nd practice. Tonight, Red Bull’s mechanics changed the car’s set-up to find more speed. They opt for a rear wing that generates less downforce in order to have more speed on the straight.
Verstappen can soon be found on the track to test this new setup. In the first half of the session, he focuses on the race simulations. Mercedes is already training for qualifying and are then at a lonely height on the lap time board.
After fifteen minutes we also see Verstappen’s Red Bull on the soft tires for a qualifying lap. After his fast lap, Max is two tenths behind his title rival. So the adjustments in the setup seem to be mainly focused on the race. So Red Bull is not going 100 percent for pole position today, but they are mainly focusing on Sunday.
