With the shortage of semiconductors, you have to know how to be patient when ordering a new car. When can you expect to be delivered if you fall for a Dacia Sandero, Renault Clio or another model of these two brands by the end of 2021? Argus takes stock.
Buying a new car in 2021 is not easy. In addition to ever higher selling prices, we have to deal with sometimes interminable delivery times. The fault is a shortage of semiconductors, these electronic components essential today for many functions. To face this crisis, Renault and its Dacia subsidiary have taken numerous measures, sometimes changing from day to day. In October, we learned the removal of the active emergency braking system on the Zoe and on certain versions of Clio or Captur. Other equipment, such as electrically folding mirrors or large meter screens, could also be sacrificed on certain models. But all this has not stopped delivery times from increasing further.

Too late to escape the new penalty

If you order at the end of the year in the hope of escaping the next tightening of the ecological penalty and the new tax on weight, do not kid yourself. You will not be able to take possession of your new vehicle before the 1ster January 2022 fateful, unless it is already in stock. The Zoe, Scénic court, Express, Talisman or Espace can however be available from February, which is rather good in the current context. On the other hand, the Kadjar will ask you to wait until April … just two months before the entry into production of his successor. Not enough to help the end of the career of this compact SUV.
Dacia no better off than Renault
![dacia spring renault twingo e-tech delivery times](https://www.largus.fr/images/images/dacia-spring-renault-twingo-electrique-01_2.jpg)
Produced in South Korea, the Arkana pushes the cap even further, until May, and the new Trafic in its VP version will ask you to chomp on the brakes until July. The Twingo will be faster to point its muzzle in your garage if you choose it electric rather than thermal; you will be able to go from May to April. Do not panic for the ecological bonus, the decrease in amounts initially planned for 1er January has been postponed to 1er July 2022, and there will still be a minimum period of three months to be invoiced in the event of an order before this date. As for the Dacia, they are not really housed in a better way despite an electronic a priori less extensive than at Renault. So don’t expect too much delivery before April for the Sandero and Spring, or before May for the restyled Duster.
