The Renault Clio, Captur and Arkana currently in production, equipped with electrically folding mirrors, are deprived of them, due to the lack of corresponding electronic chips. Customers will need to bring their car to the workshop for later installation.
If you’ve recently ordered a Renault Clio, Captur or Arkana that is supposed to have electrically folding mirrors, expect to receive the vehicle without this feature. Due to the shortage of electronic chips affecting the entire automotive industry, the diamond manufacturer can no longer equip the cars concerned with this equipment.

Many configurations concerned
Rather than interrupting production while it is time to be supplied with parts, which would cause lengthy delays, Renault has chosen to release the vehicles from the factory without the control of the electrically folding mirrors.. The dedicated button is therefore absent from the control panel located inside the driver’s door. At the same time, the mirrors do not unfold or fold when unlocking / locking the vehicle. The affected models are:
- Clio Limited with City + pack, Business with Comfort pack, Intens, RS Line and Lutecia (since the productions of September 6)
- Captur Zen, Business, Intens, RS Line and Initiale Paris (since the productions of September 6)
- Arkana Zen, Business, Inten and RS Line (since the productions of October 4)
Installation planned after delivery
If you are waiting for the delivery of a car affected by this specific shortage, rest assured, the absence of the electric mirrors folding function is only temporary. Renault will invite customers to bring their car to the workshop once the part is available. so that the device and its control are installed. It remains to be seen how long customers will have to wait before being able to benefit from this equipment, which is obviously included in the price of the car.
