At the top of the good resolutions of the French for this new year 2016: relaxation and sport. This is announced by the French Federation of Physical Education and Voluntary Gymnastics (FFEPGV) which conducted, for the fifth consecutive year, a Sport-Health Barometer by questioning 1,000 French people aged 15 and over.
Differences between man and woman
For 41% of French people, the absolute priority is to reserve real moments of relaxation. This resolution is up from previous years, and therefore takes the lead in the ranking, surpassing that of play sports. The latter still obtains a reasonable score of 35%. In third place: pass more time with friends and his family (33%). In the less represented resolutions, differences between men and women appear clearly: while these gentlemen hope stop smoking and reduce their alcohol consumptionwomen rather consider go on a diet and take care of their bodies.
Resolutions dictated by poor health
If sport and rest are at the top of the ranking, it is not by chance: the French consider their poor state of health at the end of the year, and therefore intend to remedy it. Indeed, the French give themselves an average score of 6.5/10 for their state of physical and moral fitness. And women are even more pessimistic than men: 34% of them give themselves a very good rating (between 8 and 10/10), against only 24% of women. Let’s hope that the moments of relaxation and sports sessions planned for 2016 will increase this score!
